Club Tournament 2014
8 pairs took part in the West Buckland club tournament on the 2nd June. Making it through to the semi-finals were...
- Jordan and Kayleigh vs Ray and Jacqui
- Doug and Meg vs Matt and Hannah
In the final it was down to Doug and Meg (+2) to take on the might of Ray and Jacqui (-14). It proved to be an epic match going to three ends. In the third end Ray and Jacqui were closing up on Doug and Meg and it appeared inevitable that they would catch and go on to win but some nerveless serving by Meg helped them pull away again and go on to win.
Congratulations to Doug and Meg for the win and all those who took part.
Thanks must go to Graeme and Jim for their hard work organising the event and to all those who brought food, especially the ladies who baked those fabulous cakes.
The trophies were kindly presented to the winners and runners up by Norman. He also received a presentation himself for all the hard work he has put in over the years for the club. Ray had crafted a special wooden shuttle cock to present to him.
